BENCH & BAR G.S. Huntercombe G.C. Sunday 25 March 2018

The day dawned overcast and thankfully improved during the day such that by Kate afternoon we even saw vestiges of the sun!!  A welcome sight to beckon the start of the longer days with the clock moving forward an hour overnight.  Thankfully everyone playing in this match had remembered the hour change and all arrived in time though with slightly less sleeep than they might have wished.
The Bench & Bar Team were in fine form and after a tight morning round of foursomes the LSGC team held the upper hand leading by a margin of 3 to 2 points.. quick shower and change and Sunday lunch was an excellent affair again assisted by a glass  or two of fine red wine to help.
The afternoon weather improved as the day grew older but sadly despite these improved conditions the LSGC team were not able to keep the upper hand and we came a close second overall.  The match was lost by a total of 5 1/2 to 4 1/2 but more importantly the fellowship and camaraderie more than made up for the result.   For many it was the end of a long weekend followed by a long journey home with the glow of an enjoyable weekend with good friends from the LSGC and colleagues from the Circuit Judges and the the Bench & Bar.
Thanks to all those who played in these matches, particularly those who played in both, for giving up part or all of their weekends to represent the LSGC
