The LSGC travelled to south east Ireland to play Tramore and Rosslare against the Irish Solicitors Golf Society, an annual match going back some many years. The LSGC haven’t won since 1998 and this year was no different with a resounding loss but a great time was had by all. Sadly we could only muster 9 players with cry-offs but the Irish provided some substitutes for us who all played well, better than the LSGC members actually!!
We had two fantastic meals in some lovely restaurants with considerable wine, banter and great camaraderie. The guinness was superb although many of our Irish colleagues didn’t like guinness, surprisingly to me. The only lighter moment I can provide is of one of our members, Franklin Sinclair, who always dresses colourfully. The journey was worth it and we avoided the forecast rain of biblical proportions having sunny skies. A great time to renew old friendships and make new ones.
