Fittingly, following on from the Ryder Cup victory in Paris, this match was staged at one of the great Open Championship courses, Royal Liverpool GC, otherwise simply known as Hoylake. It was unfortunate that the course was in the middle of it Autumn make over and the greens had been treated and sanded. Nevertheless it and the club house remained impressive. After meeting up for lunch at the club we played four ball better ball. The Golf Club du Palais lead over night and remained ahead after the following morning session. However the LSGC came back, to a man, and a white wash was inflicted upon our french friends. The dinner in the Club house was of a high standard as had been our outing to the Quadrant restaurant the previous night. So much, and so much fun, crammed into less than 48 hours.
