Played at Frilford Heath, near Abingdon, we enjoyed – yet again- glorious weather, good golf courses and some of the best greens that the LSGC have played on this year. In addition, good food, wine and plenty of banter provided the necessary mix for an excellent Championship.. Our President was in attendance and in good form until a bee stung his hand. Pleased to report he survived and was last seen heading for the airport and New York.
The winners were, on the first day, Henry Marshall, on the second day, John Ainsworth, and your Captain was the overall winner.
As a FOOTNOTE … With many of our members entering the ‘Seniors’ qualifying age of 55+, maybe a JUNIORS CHAMPIONSHIP should be considered … now that really would be exclusive! Would a LSGC Member out there, in his twenties, thirties or forties or early fifties, like to give it a go and arrange such a match!
