About Us

Founded in 1962, the Club has been very successful in attracting solicitors from all areas of the Legal and affiliated Professions who have enjoyed playing golf on some of the finest courses that the UK and Europe has to offer.

The members of LSGC are from all parts of England and Wales and all sorts of different firms and businesses and their handicaps are even more widespread! This is a club where no matter what your handicap may be, you will be most welcome.

The tradition of the Club is based on, but far from exclusive to, foursomes play. Foursomes and its variants are a feature of the Club’s major meetings and most of the matches, day and international. More recently there has been an increase in singles and fourball golf.

Short History

1962 – the first meeting of the L.S.G.C. was held in Chancery Lane, London. The Club’s first Spring Meeting (open to Members only) took place at Wentworth and the first Autumn Meeting (open to Members and Guests) at Hillside. Within twelve months international matches were organised, becoming firm favourites on the Club’s Fixture List.
