LSGC v Jersey Law Society – Westhill GC and Woking GC, Tue 8th & Wed 9th June 2021

LSGC played its 52nd annual match against members of the Jersey Law Society, celebrating the return of Sir William Bailhache QC, (recently retired Bailiff of Jersey) to the fixture.
The match was played in quite glorious weather – on the first day at West Hill Golf Club, Brookwood near Guildford and also on the second day at Woking Golf Club.
Jersey took an early lead, but after the morning’s games at Woking, the LSGC had managed to come within striking distance. Fittingly, the final putt on the 18th was holed by George Cattermole of the LSGC, to halve the entire match.  George, who the previous week won the LSGC’s coveted Blackheath Bowl at the Club’s Spring Meeting at Royal Cinque Ports GC,l was quite clearly in a rich vein of good form!!
