This match was played from the 23rd to the 25th May with the teams staying at the Green House Hotel in Bournemouth. The match was well managed by Philip Heyes and Stephen Moss. As you would expect, as we were by the sea, we dined at two fish restaurants, both good but the Jetty at Christchurch was exceptional.
The match was played over three courses. The first was Remedy Oakes, new to nearly all of us. It was difficult to believe that it is only 12 years old, cut out of the forest and water featuring on many holes. Our German Friends came out on top by a point but this was reversed the following day at a very wet Parkstone (such a pity as it was in wonderful condition). The LSGC managed to get the match back to all square. The final day was played mainly in the sun at Broadstone. In the tightest of matches the LSGC won by a point!
A special word of thanks to all our German friends who make this match “special “
